Plus unveiling the Woolmark Prize finalists, Pharrell’s colorful adidas originals, a Vivienne Westwood corset show, and so much more.

This isn’t a drill! There are only three days till the Met Gala, sometimes known as the “Super Bowl of Fashion.” Right now, your mind is undoubtedly racing with thoughts about who will wear what and how you can pull off an all-nighter to watch the celebrities when they arrive, but there is still enough of fashion news from this week to catch up on first. Today, we’re featuring PinkPantheress, Ice Spice, and Raye in the current SKIMS campaign, the young, conscientious fashion designers that are finalists in this year’s Woolmark Prize, Pharrell’s new dopamine-boosting adidas Originals, and so much more! Here’s all the feel-good fashion news you might have missed this week.

Pink Pantheress, Ice Spice, Raye, and Nessa Barrett team up at SKIMS.

We believe Kim K’s Spotify Wrapped will appear extremely similar to ours this year. SZA was recently introduced as the new face of her shapewear line, SKIMS. PinkPantheress, Raye, Ice Spice, and Nessa Barrett debut the Everyday Sculpt Collection in a new campaign. Shot by famous Italian artist Vanessa Beecroft, the modest artwork highlights a new assortment of lightweight, neutral bralettes, thongs, bodysuits, and more. Because even viral superstars want comfortable underwear. Check out the collection here.

Robyn Lynch, Paolina Russo, and A.Roege Hove are among the 2023 Woolmark Prize contenders.

The International Woolmark Prize is one of the most coveted accolades for new fashion talent. After all, the victors are in excellent company. Earlier editions of the prize were won by youthful Yves Saint Laurent and Karl Lagerfeld in the 1950s, as well as Giorgio Armani, Donna Karen, and Ralph Lauren. More recent awardees include emerging stars Saul Nash, Matty Bovan, and Richard Malone. The 2023 roster of finalists was revealed earlier this week, with a short video starring British musician Loyle Carner, artist Joan Jonas, and actor Taylour Paige showcasing the nominated designers’ work.

Pharrell’s new adidas Sambas celebrate spring in style.

While we wait anxiously for Pharrell’s debut Louis Vuitton Men’s collection to be shown in Paris in June, fashion’s favorite it-boy has been busy creating a colorful new series of adidas Sambas. This weekend’s Something In The Water Festival in Virginia Beach will be the exclusive pre-launch for the collaboration. The lilac, orange, red, yellow, and pink colorways have arrived just in time for spring. Furthermore, the new Sambas use ECCO leather’s water-saving tanning technique, which saves 20 litres of water each hide. The collection will be available internationally on May 6 through the adidas Confirmed app and Pharrell’s own brand, Humanrace.

strap in for Vivienne Westwood’s corset display.

Coquette girls, stand up! It’s time to get ready for Vivienne Westwood’s corset display. The late designer’s famed fine art print corsets are on many a fashion wishlist, but if you’re still saving up for the big purchase, check out the new show in the meanwhile. ‘Vivienne Westwood Corsets: 1987 to Present Day’ chronicles the evolution of Westwood’s rebellious corsets, placing them within the context of historical fashion, culture, and fine art. It demonstrates how she elevated a normally restricting clothing into a symbol of empowerment. To accompany the exhibition, Vivienne Westwood has created a limited edition corset-inspired jewelry collection that is available online and in her shops. The exhibition will run from May 8 to 14 at the Conduit St. Vivienne Westwood shop as part of London Craft Week.

Kim Kardashian’s luxurious date with Choupette.

A mood change has been forming, and reports are spreading that the Kardashians will not be invited to this year’s Metropolitan Gala. Kim put those rumors to rest this week – literally – as she cuddled up with Karl Lagerfeld’s beloved cat Choupette. Yes, that’s the cat Lagerfeld left £1.3 million in his will. Kim also posted a snapshot of herself staring at a wall of the designer’s archived works. Given that she wore the Marilyn Monroe dress to the Met last year, Kim will have a difficult time outdoing herself, but she may try with access to Lagerfeld’s huge collection for companies such as Chanel, Chloe, and Fendi.

Matthieu Blazy reveals he is exactly like us with a Kate Moss fanzine.

Matthieu Blazy of Bottega Veneta may be a leather magician, but his latest endeavor demonstrates that he is, at his core, just like us. “Kate Moss was my first Google search,” he remarked, referring to the supermodel-themed fanzine he produced this week. “She is the first photograph to be produced on the family printer. “She was my first.” Kate Moss is eternally compelling; the #katemoss hashtag has 1.4 billion views on TikTok, where admirers post ’90s runway montages and rare interview snippets. Blazy’s fanzine includes scans from his own library of Moss’ most memorable advertisements, paparazzi photos, magazine covers, and a drawing he did of one of her British Vogue covers.
